The HEC Paris Incubator is an à la carte support program based at Station F, priced at 300 euros a month, with three calls for applications a year and a two-round selection that ends in front of a jury. You don't need any connection to HEC to apply: the incubator's official FAQ says so in plain terms, and only asks non-alumni to complete an HEC Paris entrepreneurship MOOC.

An à la carte program at Station F
The official HEC Paris Incubator page describes it as a "tailor-made, à la carte and participatory" program, run in French or English, that puts the HEC ecosystem to work for founders. The stated promise: reach in four renewable months what a team would take a year to reach on its own.
The application site, builders.hec.fr, spells out the rhythm: a new batch every four months; during the first four months, onboarding and access to resources with a dedicated tutor and check-ins every two weeks; after that, startups are considered "business-ready" and keep access to resources as they need them. A founder testimonial published by Idées PME names these three phases Take Off, Cruise and Life Long.
The official numbers, read alongside their source
The HEC page reports: more than 900 companies supported since 2007 (Leetchi, Point Vision, Garantme, Ovrsea, MyJobGlasses, Spacefill), more than 1,000 innovative projects, 7 IPOs, 3 billion euros raised from private investors, and 42% women founders in 2025. Builders.hec.fr mentions more than 270 startups currently in the program. These are school-reported, unaudited figures, so treat them as orders of magnitude.
Do you need to be an HEC graduate to join the HEC incubator?
🎓 No. The answer is written into the incubator's FAQ, and the recent batches back it up.
The eligibility page, line by line
The official HEC Paris Incubator FAQ lists the eligibility criteria: full-time commitment to the project; a project that is far enough along (MVP, prototype or product); scalable business models only; at least three months of runway; availability in Paris during the first four months for the on-site program.
Asked whether a link to HEC is needed, the FAQ answers that one is "not required," that the incubator is "open to all entrepreneurs, whatever their academic background," and that selection turns on "the strength of the team, the ambition of the project and its growth potential." Non-alumni have to complete an entrepreneurship MOOC offered by HEC Paris. The hec.edu page adds a line in the same spirit: if you worry you don't match the typical profile, "diversity is one of our principles."
Recent batches and their profiles
The Spring Batch 2026, presented on hec.edu, includes 13 startups, 27 founders and more than 7 sectors: agri-food, cleantech, cement deeptech, HRtech, govtech. The profiles never mention which school the founders came from, only a specific problem, a product, a sector: exactly what the application is expected to contain.

Equity, hidden costs, what's included
Neither the hec.edu page, nor builders.hec.fr, nor the FAQ mentions taking a stake. The published model is a monthly fee. Included, according to hec.edu: the network (200 entrepreneurs, 60,000 alumni, 4,000 students a year), access to more than 1,000 experts, meetings with corporates and investors, and Station F events. Not included: your rent off site, and the time you'll spend there.
One caveat on duration: the hec.edu page says "4 months renewable" in its summary and, further down, "successive 3-month periods, 8 maximum." The FAQ and builders.hec.fr both refer to four-month cycles. Plan on four months for the first cycle, and ask the team which renewal rule applies when you apply.

The two official sources differ by a month on when applications open (hec.edu says "early October," "early February," "early June"; the FAQ says September, January, May). Outside those windows, a waiting list on builders.hec.fr will notify you when the next one opens. You can apply as many times as you like; the FAQ actively encourages founders to come back once the project has matured.
The four selection stages
- Eligibility. A short form, with an answer within 48 hours according to hec.edu.
- Application. The full form: project, team, traction.
- Jury. 18 to 24 projects are shortlisted to go before a jury of experts. On the day, per the FAQ: an 8-minute pitch, then 12 minutes of questions. The jury brings together entrepreneurs, mentors, experts, VCs, the Île-de-France Region and the incubator team.
- Final selection. The number of spots depends on the desks freed up by outgoing startups each quarter, which hec.edu states explicitly.
What the jury looks for
The "who the program is for" page describes six traits: ambitious, a doer, different, collaborative, passionate, humble. Translated into an application, that means four things to prove: a full-time team with at least three months of runway (an eligibility criterion), a product that exists (MVP or prototype), a market big enough for a scalable model, and a specific reason for wanting HEC rather than another program. The FAQ suggests preparing what you'll bring to the community, not only what you expect from it.

A desk at Station F
The on-site program gives you a desk in the Halle Freyssinet, surrounded by more than 1,000 startups and more than 600 events a year according to hec.edu. The value: the twice-monthly check-ins with your tutor, office hours, and partner meetings, which builders.hec.fr puts at more than 300 interactions a week across the whole incubator. The condition is being in Paris for the first four months.
Remote incubation
The Online Program gives you the same support without a desk, for 300 euros per startup per month, whatever your city or your current office setup. For a team already incubated in the regions, it's a way to add the HEC network without moving. What you give up is the serendipity of the Station F hallways.

Does the HEC incubator take equity?
None of the official pages we checked (hec.edu, builders.hec.fr, the FAQ) mentions taking a stake. The published model is a fee of 300 euros a month. Ask for written confirmation during the application process.
